CPC in Schools
In 2015, the Contemporary Performance Collective launched CPC in Schools, which provides music education programs for students in our communities. We believe that every child should have access to music education. Partnering with our world-class musicians and local schools, we are bridging the gap between students and music.
In 2017, CPC in Schools has expanded to include the Alvord School District in Riverside, CA.
CPC Student Composer Fellowship Program
in collaboration with La Sierra University
The Contemporary Performance Collective (CPC) and the Music Department of La Sierra University are collaborating in a new program, the CPC Student Composer Fellowship Program. La Sierra University students are invited to compose a short piece of music for string quartet. Students work with both La Sierra University faculty and with CPC composers while writing their composition. Students also collaborate with their peers to workshop their pieces as they are developed. In the final stage of this project, students have the opportunity to have their piece played by the Lyris Quartet in an interactive workshop.
